Introduction

Growing up, my family has always been very passionate about racing cars. Starting with my grandfather, he would always been seen at the Mid-Ohio race track. While my parents were dating, my father would always go out in his Datsun to impress my mom and my grandfather. As time went on, my dad found his passion for working on cars and made it his career. From working at basic auto repair shops such as, Goodyear and Christian Brothers, he has settled at his own shop called Perimeter Speed Shop. His main focus is basic repairs but takes on all of his friends SE30's to prepare them for their races, along with his own. Since I've been a kid, my dad has always had project cars in our garage that were ripped apart. Buying old, broken cars that don't run and fixing it for a cheap price and then selling it for way more. That is actually what we did for my car. We bought it off of craigslist and had to replace the whole cooling system before I could even start driving it.

Starting SE30

When my dad finally started to get back into racing, he didn't jump in head over heels. There is a race track in Delonhega called Atlanta Motorsports Park. It is like a country club for golfers but its race cars instead. There is a normal track and then behind it there is a go-kart track that you can go on. There are buildings along the pit lane that store all of the members cars while they are gone. From Porches, to Miatas, to Ariel Atoms. There is a whole variety of cars that you can see on track. Throughout the year, they have their own competition series that the se30's and the smiata's can race in. This past year in 2018, my dad got first place for the se30's and won a water gun. He was pretty proud of himself. From there he finally got enough courage to join the big guys on Road Atlanta. This is where I will probably start racing. Since it is a smaller track and not that many people run on it, it'll be easier for me to get comfortable in the car and learn all of the racing techniques.
