History

When I was younger, my father would work on race cars for all of his buddies. He stopped doing it for a while due to my brother and I growing up and he didn't want to risk anything that could potentially happen. Now that my brother and I are adults and out of high school, he started back up his passion. When my brother and I were younger, we would drive around Gwinnett County in his e36. We would meet up with his friends and go to all of the local car meets. We both are wanting to race with my dad in the future. My brother has already started racing a little bit so he currently has a head start on me. Racing was not a big aspect of my childhood due to my ears being extremely sensitive. I would be left at home with my grandparents while my brother and parents would camp out at Road Atlanta for race weekends.

Preparation

Preparing to head to the race track for the weekend is a huge process. Making sure that the tires are in good enough condition to run, making sure all of the fluids in the car are full and nothing is leaking, and making sure that all safety regulations are correct. My dad does this for a select few of his buddies down at his shop. If you fail to check your car before the big weekend, you can risk yourself getting hurt or wrecking your car. If you didn't check your breaks and tires and they are both worn down, say it was raining, then you wouldn't have enough traction or power to brake and you could crash into the tire wall. If you go to the introduction page, you will see the shop that is up at AMP, Atlanta Motorsports Park. They do alot of their preparations up there because they are able to go out on track and test the car. My dad likes to race up there from time to time, even though it isn't in his main racing divison.
